Terms and Conditions for Driving First

1. Introduction Welcome to Driving First. These Terms and Conditions govern the use of our services and our relationship with students and clients. By booking a lesson with us, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms.

2. Booking and Payment

• All driving lessons must be prepaid.
• Bookings can be made online, by phone, or in person.
• Payment must be received in full at the time of booking.

3. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

• Cancellations and rescheduling requests must be made via text or phone call.
• Lessons cancelled or rescheduled with more than 3 clear working days’ notice will not incur any additional charges.
  • Example: If your lesson is on Friday, you must cancel or reschedule by the end of Monday to avoid charges.
• Lessons cancelled or rescheduled with less than 3 clear working days’ notice will be charged at the standard lesson rate.
• Exceptions for cancellations or rescheduling within the 3-day window may be made under mitigating circumstances, at the discretion of the assigned instructor.

4. Test Day Policy

• Driving tests are charged at a flat rate of £100.00 for the use of the driving school’s vehicle on the test day.
• The DVSA test fee is paid separately to the DVSA or directly to the instructor if they are booking on behalf of the student.

5. Late Arrival and No-Shows

• Instructors will wait for a maximum of 10 minutes past the scheduled time.
• No-shows or late arrivals will result in the loss of the lesson with no refund provided.

6. Conduct, Hygiene, and Safety

• Students must possess a valid learner’s permit or driver’s license and present it before each lesson.
• Good personal hygiene and appropriate clothing are expected.
• Aggression, rudeness, or any form of misconduct will not be tolerated and may result in immediate termination of the lesson.
• Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol will lead to immediate termination of the lesson and possibly the termination of the student-instructor relationship.

7. Liability for Damage

• In the event of damage caused by negligence or misuse by a student, the cost of repair may be passed on to the student.

8. Instructor Cancellation

• Instructors may occasionally need to cancel a lesson; in such cases, students will not be charged.
• It is the student’s responsibility to rebook the lesson with their instructor.

9. Vehicle Usage

• Driving First vehicles are regularly maintained and insured for instructional use.

10. Liability

• Driving First is not responsible for personal property left in vehicles and is not liable for any accidents or incidents that occur during a lesson.

11. Changes to Terms and Conditions

• Driving First reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time. The most current version will always be posted on our website.

12. Governing Law

• These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
